The delayed goal of passing the Houyo Strait has now started as of 6:40AM 9/17/99. They will land at Mitsukue Beach, Seto-town, Ehime. It was cloudy with only a little bit of blue sky visible. Wave height at the coast was 1.5 meters.
We really appreciate Ohita's Kayak enthusiasts. Four member joined Kohno, each rowing single kayaks. They are: Mr. Masakatsu Syokita (46, of Okinawa, a Sea Kayak Guide), Mr. Kenshi Ide (21, staff member of the Outdoor Shop), and Mr. Naoyuki Nishizawa (of Ohita, Japan).
The four sea kayakers were passed Sata-cape lighthouse 9:45A.M.. Then across over the Houyo Strait. After been to the Ehime prefecture area, Ninomiya were welcome them by another sea kayak. Added one more kayakker, on the ebb tide with against wind, they passed Yokobori at 2:00P.M.. Finally arrive at Futanatsu, Misakicho at 4:10P.M.. The current schedule was arrive at Mitsukue Beach but has been changed because ebb tide and against wind. Saeki and Matsumoto will be accompany with Kohno at 18 and 19.
To people who were originally scheduled to join us, we are very sorry. The weather was so bad that the tropical cyclone was changed to typhoon ZIA). Also we feel regret that we were limited to only four members, and are very grateful for their participation.
