September 4, 1999 The 3rd stage begins!
Hyoichi Kohno on Kayak (September 4, Near Takamatsu, Kushima)
| We have waited a long time to restart this expedition. Finally, the 3rd stage's final part began at 9:10 AM on the 4th of September. Kayakers Kawano, Yoneda, Matsumoto, and Ide, owner of the Shop "Outdoors KONPASU," joined Kohno's adventure at the Expedition office . Matsumoto is experienced with river kayaking but today's waves were 1.5 meters high! For a second, at first, he hesitated, but Kohno was cool. | They arrived in Koigaura, Minami-nakagun, Kagoshima prefecture at 4:15 PM.
Everything went OK. Today's land fall was at a spot famous with Kyushu's surfers.
If you want to join his voyage, then you are very welcome. After tomorrow's leg, Kohno
will continue his solo voyage. They will start the voyage at 8:00 AM tomorrow morning. We have some concern about the weather. (Report based on phone report by Matsumoto.) |
