July 5, 1999 Depart from Suwanose.

At 7:35 AM Kohno reported, "We are leaving Suwanose in a few seconds. We are headed for Nakano Island today."

The distance between Suwanose and Nakano is about 30 kilometers.

At 8:05 PM Kohno and Yoneda phoned that they had arrived at Nakanoshima at 1:00 PM that afternoon without any problem. "There were no [significant] waves offshore but we had to take a detour around rapids. The stream was the same as river," Kohno said.

They are camping tonight. Tomorrow, July 6th, they voyage to Kuchino, then they plan to arrive at Yaku Island on the 7th.  Once at Yaku, they will take a day off. After the Sata Cape, they will continue the expedition to 3rd stage until middle of July.

The distance between Nakano and Kuchino is about 20 kilometers.

The Mr.Miyake (Expedition Office manager and manager of outdoor shop KONPASU) will also be at Yaku to welcome them when they arrive on the 7th.  We have only a few days left in this 2nd stage.
