September 19, 1999 ~ the 1,300km voyage is COMPLETE !

Kohno was accompanied by 15 kayaks and 17 people on his final day. They left Seaside Park at 8:00 AM and arrived at Matsuyama 1:05 PM. At final landing, 100 people were waiting them. One of the 100 was Mayor Nakamura. Kohno completed a great 1,300 km voyage. Now his next step awaits him .... the journey from the North Pole to Matsuyama! This finish marks the beginning of seeing his big dream fulfilled - the North Pole to Okinawa adventure. After this next success, the North Pole and Okinawa will be connected by his steps and the  wake of his kayak..

After arrive to Baishinji Beach, Kohno pray to the God of the sea as  thank to the safety voyage with offering the Okinawan flowers.

After the voyage, Kohno says "It was so great experience to communicate with the people. I'd like to say special thanks to everybody who cheer me on.""The sea kayak is so stable more than fishing boat. And it's fast. Some people says looks so danger but it's safe because I can re-raise on when kayak has overturned .""The power of the wave, the power of the wind was big thing what I've learn at this voyage"...and "Ocean was not fearful because surface are so close with me when on the kayak. When on the big boat, it is little bit far then fearful." "When look the land from the ocean in low level like from the kayak, we can see so many things differently. Then we can think a lot." "I've got new friends, I've got communication and then I've made wake between Okinawa and Ehime. I'm ready to leave to the next adventure, now".

Mr.Sugano He accompanied Kohno from Futami to finish Matsuyama. Mr.Keisuke Tomiya Also he accompanied from Futami to Matuyama.

Mr.Masakatsu Syokita He accompanied since across Houyo Strait.
