State of Oklahoma. This is the part of the country that purchased from France. Oklahoma was set aside for the Native American. Cherokee, Creek, Chikasaw, Choktow and Seminole were forced emigrate there from their homes. After 1889, the land was opened for white farmers. A Territory in 1890, it joined the Union as a state in 1907.

Stock farming and agriculture have great value. Struck in 1901, oil became a profit center.  In 1927, the No.1 producing oil well of  America was here.

I saw oil pump everywhere when RAAM entered Oklahoma. Tulsa city is reputed as the "World's Oil Capital" and hosts the  Worlds' Oil Exposition every 4 years.

The capital, Oklahoma City, was born in one day. On April 2 1889, Native American's land were to be opened in the famous Land Rush.  People came to Oklahoma and camped around the station to be ready to race to best land rights. Oklahoma City has the nickname "Frontier Town". The National Cowboy of Fame and Western Inheritance Center are situated in this town.

The name Oklahoma means Red Person in the Native American Chokuto's language.
