RAAM 1996
- Day 8 -

This village sign is like an icon of Tennessee. After the Mississippi river, we have 780 miles until the finish.

In the afternoon, it's a time for change the pace car staff. They reevaluate their plans closely. While stopped at a signal, an older man and woman approach the support crew to say "Are you going Atlanta?  You are too late."

He runs 7th day to 8th day without much rest. This is his face when he stops at a time station: Exhausted. Support staff does not prepare a chair because if he sits, he will kill time.  Sakurai says "I feel pain all over my body - I can't walk  but I can ride the bike".
